DineLA was happening, and Abby, Vinnie, Phill and I managed to take advantage of it with a trip to Bourbon Steak in Glendale on the corner of the Americana. They had a pretty good deal for $49 (plus tip) you got a salad, a steak (or salmon) and side, and a dessert. For $20 there was a 2.5 glass wine pairing, which Phill and Abby tried out.
Plus we started off with a trio of fries and sauces from the kitchen. There was duck fat fries, parmaschen cheese fries and pickled fries with different dips for each of them.
I went with the Caesar salad which was more filling than it looked. For the entree I had the filet mignon, which I’m glad I ordered medium rare as it came out more like medium, and Abby’s medium-well was more well done.
The side of brussel sprouts were good, the honey gave them a nice sweet bite. Desserts were a choice of cheesecake, which was more like three bites of a cheesecake, and a root beer float with two big cookies. We were quite full, so the cheesecake was a worthy dessert, though you get more of your money’s worth with the root beer float.
All in all, Bourbon Steak is a pretty good option for the Glendale area, and definitely worth checking out for DineLA. The steaks coming out overcooked was a little concerning, but the service, atmosphere and everything else more than made up for it.
