Manhattan Beach Post
Per our custom of going out to eat at Manhattan Beach whenever one or both of us returns from LAX in the evening, we made plans to have dinner at M.B. Post with Chris and Cristina. Now we didn’t get to Parking Lot C until 8:10 and our reservation was for 8:30, yet we still made it there by 8:37. Not too bad.
We hadn’t seen my brother and Cristina in over a month so it was good to catch up with them and tell them about our trip to Chicago, the great food was an extra bonus. We had the usual bacon cheddar buttermilk biscuits along with the chicken meatballs and pomegranate couscous, but we also tried a couple new (to us) dishes:
Potato and leek and black truffle ravioli with asparagus and truffle royale mushrooms (which was pretty good),
and fried chicken with coleslaw. Both were pretty good, but we were still full from the pizza we had in the afternoon that we had leftovers, which is quite unheard of for us. I was so full I even passed up having an Elvis dessert.
And so our weekend came to an end, as we were back home by 11, neither one of us yearning to go to work tomorrow, despite the short work week ahead of us, but that’s how you know it was a good weekend.
